HI! Forester, IF The vehicle has sat over night or for 5hrs. the pressure will depressurize, i also have a 98 s with 237,000kms. You might want to try a tranny fliud change and try the cocktail mix, alot have positive results including cars with grinding issues, i have amsoil, and redline synthetic oil and have very good results, but i may try want what some of the others guys have tried 50/50
('03-'05) - Where is the Fuel Pump Relay or Fuse
When I was working on our '03 X this summer, I couldn't find a fuse specifically for the fuel pump, but I did find the fuel pump relay. It's located to the right of the glove compartment, up a bit, mounted with another relay.

Power to the ignition switch comes from fuse SBF-4 in the engine compartment. SBF-4 connects to a bus in the main fuse box that is powered from the alternator, and via the main, 100 Amp fuse, from the battery. A bad contact at a fuse or connection could lead to intermittent power to the ECM and from there to the relay(s).
