I don't have a magneto ignition wiring diagram for my 1950 Cub. I think I understand why I don't have any spark, but I don't want to take a chance on burning something out. A medium diameter yellow wire runs to the back of the lighting switch from the front terminal of the voltage regulator.

The page you referenced clearly states a battery ignition - which means a distributor and not a magneto.
