LS1 FUEL FILTER CHANGE
You should change the filter on your LS1 at least once a year or every 20,000 miles, whichever comes first. If you drive in dusty or sandy conditions, you should change your filter more frequently. A dirty air filter will cause your LS1 to lose 1 - 3 mpg, depending on your driving, you can save 70 - 100 gallons of gas per year simply by changing your filter regularly.

VE Fuel Filter - ls1
What is the consensus with fuel filters on the VE's? They are apparently a biatch to change (under back seat) and need to be accessed via a hatch that is sealed down with some black tar like shite? Most cars need a change at regular intervals ie Wifes Mazda SP25 is roughly every 40k. What is so special about the VE ones that they don't need to be easy to change regularly.

On these vehicles the fuel filter is a different arrangement and is part of the fuel pump assembly which is inside the fuel tank.
